According to reports, the western front of Taiz collapsed as Houthi forces overran PLC forces and broke the first line of defense. The advance led to the capture of Al Turbah and the operational severance of supply lines to and from Taiz.

Reports of the advance on Jabal Racin began circulating yesterday, followed by reports of Houthi advances along the Al Turbah axis this morning. The situation has left Taiz operationally isolated, while the southern government reportedly declared a new phase of the war with a new offensive.

Heavy fighting and airstrikes continued for a second consecutive day across multiple fronts in Taiz, with Yemeni government forces reporting they contained Houthi attacks. Clashes and artillery exchanges were reported across the northern, eastern, and western approaches to Taiz city, as well as south toward Sami', al-Aqrud, al-Wazi'iyah, and Jabal Rasin.

According to the Yemeni Armed Forces, military operations over a 24-hour period involved hundreds of strikes using combat aircraft, drones, artillery, and missiles across multiple governorates, with the main operational concentration in Taiz. The military claimed that the operations killed or wounded 1,540 Houthi personnel and destroyed numerous vehicles and weapons systems, though these figures have not been independently verified.

Outside Taiz, government forces intercepted three Houthi one-way attack drones over the al-Kassarah front northwest of Ma'rib, while field sources reported the destruction of a Houthi gun in the area.
