Unexplained blast sounds and smoke were reported in the Chitgar area of western Tehran. Smoke was observed rising from the area, though initial reports noted no signs of an active fire or confirmed explosion before several blast sounds were subsequently heard.
The cause of the incident remains unknown, and there is no confirmation of a military strike or established damage.
Iran is reportedly rapidly rebuilding the Taleghan 2 facility at the Parchin military complex, located southeast of Tehran. The site, a former nuclear weapons program location, has been covered with a large tarp to conceal heavy construction work, which includes dump trucks, bulldozers, concrete pumps, cranes, and new blast-reinforcement walls.
This marks the third rebuild cycle for the facility. Israel previously struck the building in October 2024, after which Iran rebuilt it with a new high-explosive containment vessel. Israel struck the site again in March 2026 using bunker-busters, destroying the internal structure. Repairs began by June 2026 and are now accelerating under concealment. The Institute for Science and International Security has described the repeated rebuilding as deeply concerning.

DUBAI/WASHINGTON, April 11 (Reuters) - Iran has signalled to Washington that it will respond to Israel's attack on its Syrian embassy in a way that aims to avoid major escalation and it will not act hastily, as Tehran presses demands including a Gaza truce, Iranian sources said.
Iran's message to Washington was conveyed by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian during a visit on Sunday to the Gulf Arab state of Oman, which has often acted as an intermediary between Tehran and Washington, the sources said.
