Overnight, Ukraine reportedly targeted Russia's largest oil storage and pumping facility, the Samara Oil storage and pumping complex, marking the third attack on the site this week.
The Transneft facility contains 71 storage tanks with a reported combined capacity exceeding 10 million barrels of crude oil. Samara serves as a critical hub for receiving, storing, blending, and transporting crude oil from Russia's major producing regions.
Ukrainian FP-1 and long-range strike drones hit the Samara oil pumping station in Russia's Samara region, causing a large fire at the facility. The station serves as a key oil hub for receiving, storing, and blending crude oil transported from Tatarstan and Western Siberia, distributing it into pipelines including the Kuibyshev-Tikhoretsk and Druzhba systems. Footage shows the aftermath and the fire at the site, which spans over 216 hectares with 71 storage tanks.
