Reportedly, an errant Russian air defense missile attempting to intercept the incoming Ukrainian attack ended up hitting a residential building, leading to casualties.
Overnight, Ukraine appears to have struck the former building of Higher Military Aviation School of Navigators in occupied Lunansk Oblast and areas of Luhansk Airport.
The below video purports to show ATACMS being launched in the attack tonight.
Below footage of the aftermath.
Additional spectator footage.
This attack was supposedly carried out by high explosive ATACMS ballistic missiles, which are not known to have been provided to Ukraine. This would mark the first use of such a variant of the ATACMS, with previous attacks being conducted with the cluster munition variant.
If indeed this is the HE variant, it is likely to be the M48 and not the M57.
Footage shows heavy air defense activity at the time of the attack. It's unclear if there were any successful interceptions, but detonations in the sky can be seen.
