Pro-Russian politician Călin Georgescu was taken into custody this morning. He is accused of fraud and of forming an organized criminal group that reportedly received more than €1 million from various Russian citizens.

Romania scrambled two F-16 fighter jets after radar detected an aerial target around 12 km north of Chilia, near the Ukrainian border. Authorities issued a RO-Alert to residents in northern Tulcea County as a precaution, and the aircraft were sent to monitor the situation.

The alert was lifted, and Romanian authorities reported that there was no unauthorized entry into the national airspace.

Considering the significant deterioration of the security situation in Ukraine, as a result of Russia's constant and massive attacks on civilians and civil infrastructure, especially on the energy sector, as well as the regional consequences of this situation, including on Romania's security, in close coordination with the Allies, Council members decided to donate a PATRIOT system to Ukraine.
