A package containing a mysterious substance was reportedly sent to a military unit in Nowa Dęba, Poland, resulting in three people being hospitalized after coming into contact with it.
According to RMF FM, the envelope arrived from Germany containing a postcard. Two Military Police officers and a civilian in the room developed skin irritation on their face and hands, while four other officers without symptoms were isolated and 133 people were evacuated from a neighbouring staircase.
Specialist chemical-response teams deployed to the scene and secured samples for examination. Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the symptoms or the contents of the package.
Polish authorities have confirmed that a fire at a Starlink ground station in the Grójec district was deliberately set. According to Deputy Interior Minister Czesław Mroczek, surveillance footage provides evidence of arson, shifting the investigation from an earlier consideration of an electrical fault.
The fire, which broke out in Wola Krobowska in the Mazovia region, damaged the station's power supply infrastructure and a power generator. The facility is operated by the state-owned telecommunications company Exatel and is used to transmit internet traffic across Poland and to Ukraine, as well as supporting SpaceX Starlink terminals. Deputy Prime Minister and Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski previously stated that the incident fits a pattern of sabotage threats against critical infrastructure.
Concrete slabs were placed on railway tracks near Stoczek Łukowski in Poland's Lublin Voivodeship on Tuesday evening, causing two freight trains traveling in opposite directions to strike the obstacles. One of the trains was carrying fuel and reportedly came close to derailing.
The impact damaged the front scrapers of both locomotives, but neither train derailed and no injuries were reported. Rail traffic was suspended for several hours while emergency services secured the area and investigated the incident.
Poland issued an RCB Alert to residents across the Lublin Voivodeship amid a Russian attack on Ukrainian territory.
The alert states that the situation is being monitored and that Polish military aviation is operating in Polish airspace.
