US, Denmark and Greenland expected to sign security agreement

According to Copenhagen and Nuuk, Greenland, Denmark and the US are expected to sign an agreement next week at the UN General Assembly to strengthen Arctic and North Atlantic security. Officials stressed that the agreement respects Danish sovereignty and Greenland's right to self-determination.

Previously, US President Donald Trump announced that the US had entered an agreement with Denmark and Greenland giving the United States permanent control over security and other needs in Greenland at no cost to the US.
