Russian shelling caused a large-scale fire at the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant (TPP), with the company still working to localize the fire in the plant’s turbine workshop, energy company Centrenergo said in a statement.
There were no casualties, and the attack has not resulted in power cuts in Ukraine’s capital region Kyiv or other regions supplied by Trypilska TPP.
Law enforcement sources told Suspilne that the Russians targeted the Trypilska thermoelectric power plant on 11 April with five Kh-69 missiles. An energy company says the plant may be rebuilt with equipment offers from EU countries, though ongoing Russian threats render reconstruction without air defenses futile.
Combined attack through many regions unfortunately. Some other regions hit such as Kharkiv, Sumy, Lviv, Zaporizhiya.
This will continue until Ukraine is supplied with more air defense. They've recently asked for 25 Patriot batteries, which is significant but still doable.
