Ukrainian Defense Forces reportedly struck the dry bulk carrier Aroyat while it was heading to a Russian port, causing a fire in the stern. The vessel was carrying a crew of 7 Egyptian, 6 Syrian and 3 Turkish sailors, with casualties reported among them. Previously in 2023, the ship was among the first to use the maritime corridor to Ukraine to load grain destined for Egypt.

For a fifth consecutive day, Syrian security forces have been carrying out extensive searches for suspects in the city of Sanamayn in northern Daraa, following clashes that resulted in the deaths of security personnel.
